Reviewing the work and tasks of the PEPA


The Petroleum Exploration and Production Authority (PEPA) held a meeting today, chaired by His Excellency the Minister of Oil and Minerals, Dr. Abdullah Al-Amir, to discuss the Authority’s activities, tasks, strategies, and challenges. The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister Mohammed Al-Najjar, Undersecretary Nasser Al-Aji, Assistant Undersecretary for Mineral Affairs Dr. Yahya Al-Ajam, and PEPA Chairman Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Ghafari.

The meeting reviewed the Authority’s most prominent activities and tasks, including investment promotion strategies, international competition mechanisms, and the stages of receiving applications from applicant companies. It also addressed the Authority’s future plans, focusing on its efforts to promote Yemenization of investment in the oil and gas sectors and support the establishment of service companies.

The attendees discussed ways to improve the Authority’s work mechanisms and enhance its marketing and promotional activities to attract investments. Minister Al-Amir affirmed the Ministry’s full support for the Authority’s efforts, reiterating its commitment to addressing challenges and activating its various programs. He praised the Authority’s rich information resources, including maps and databases, which constitute a solid foundation for developing the oil and exploration sector in Yemen. He called for optimal utilization of this resource to support national efforts toward sector development.

The Minister urged attendees to assume responsibility in accomplishing tasks and work as a team to implement activities that foster national belonging. He also emphasized the importance of prioritizing various areas to achieve desired goals and support government programs aimed at change and sustainable development.
